Lauryn Hill set to bring hip-hop and rhythm and blues to House of Blues

ORLANDO, Fla. – House of Blues is set to host Lauryn Hill, on Dec. 8. The final leg of her 2016 tour dates will begin on Nov. 27 at Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas. It will conclude on Dec. 18 at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md.
In the 1990s—Hill was a member of Fugees and released two albums, “Blunted on Reality” and “The Score”. Along with Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean, singles from “Blunted on Reality” included: “Boof Baf”, “Nappy Heads” and “Vocab”. Singles from “The Score” consisted of: “Fu-Gee-La”, “Killing Me Softly”, “Ready or Not” and their rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry”.
Towards the end of the century—Hill released her solo debut album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”. It was distributed by Columbia/Ruffhouse Records. Her achievements and accolades for the record were reaching number one in the U.S. and Canada. It was certified platinum many times over, throughout the world. In 2002, she reached platinum status with “MTV Unplugged No. 2.0”.
Throughout Hill’s career, she has collaborated with many artists and songs including: Nas’ “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)”, Paid & Live’s “All My Time”, Wyclef Jean’s “Guantamera”, Mary J. Blige’s “All That I Can Say”, John Legend’s “So High”, Method Man’s “Say” and many more.
Outside of music, Hill could be seen on the screen. She acted in the following television programs: “As The World Turns”, “Here and Now” and “ABC Afterschool Specials”. She co-starred in the following films: “King of the Hill”, “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit”, “Hav Plenty” and “Restaurant”. She will be co-starring in the upcoming, “Man in Wood”.
Hill’s performance on “Austin City Limits” was aired in the month of Aug. on PBS. The set list of her performance included: “Ex Factor”, “Final Hour”, “Lost Ones”, “Fu-Gee-La”, “How Many Mics”, “Ready or Not”, “Killing Me Softly”, “Feeling Good” and “Doo Wop”.
